Administration/Dosage of Nalbuphine

Nalbuphine is always administered as an injection. There are three ways in which the Nalbuphine injections are administered, either intravenously, intramuscularly or subcutaneously. The dosage is preset by the healthcare professional, but the patient can self administer the drug later on. It is strongly advised not to alter the dosage that has been determined by the healthcare professional that makes the prescription of the drug.

The drug is used for children also, but the dosages will differ. Since it is an intravenous, intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, extreme care is needed for the administration. In most cases, an adult will be needed to administer Nalbuphine to children, under predetermined dosages. Or else, children might be called to visit the healthcare facility to receive their doses of the drug.
