Side Effects of Nalbuphine
Nalbuphine suffers from all the common side-effects that are associated with opiate analgesics. The side-effects might be commonly or rarely observed in patients. Here are some of the side-effects that are found with Nalbuphine usage:
- Less frequently observed side-effects – Nalbuphine can cause several CNS problems such as agitation, anxiety and nervousness. A person on Nalbuphine might remain in a confused state of mind for a long time. Breathing problems might occur in rare instances, which might manifest themselves as a suffocated feeling within the chest or wheezing. There might be chest infections. Skin might develop rashes and itch. In some cases, the temperature of the skin might go down rapidly, and perspiration might occur profusely. Fainting has been observed in some patients; and the patients who have fainting spells remain lightheaded otherwise. In very few cases, seizures have also been found.
- Frequently observed side-effects – Less serious side-effects are found commonly among people who use Nalbuphine. Some of these are a loss of taste and appetite and a general dry feeling inside the mouth. Constipation might occur when the person is on Nalbuphine. Insomnia is also common, but during the daytime the person may become giddy or drowsy. Headaches are common. Nausea is observed and might culminate in vomiting. As in all analgesics, there might be difficulty in passing urine. There might be stomachaches and the pain at the site of the injection.
