Side Effects of Roxanol

Roxanol has most of the side effects that are observed in opioid analgesics. The following is a list of some of the side effects that are produced:

  1. Less frequently observed side-effects – In a very small number of people on a Roxanol administration, breathing difficulties might be observed. There could be suffocation, or wheezing with breathing. Some people might find a lowering of their skin temperature and the skin might become clammy. There can be rash present on the skin. Erratic heartbeats could be observed; the heartbeat could become either faster or slower than the normal rate. An unusual weakness might be experienced by some users. These side-effects, though infrequent, are serious and warrant immediate medical attention.
  2. Frequently observed side-effects – Commonly, users of Roxanol might complain of visual problems such as blurring of vision and of an uncomfortable dry feeling in the mouth accompanied by a loss of taste. Itching of the skin is common too. The face might become flushed. Gastrointestinal problems such as constipation could occur. Some people complain of a drowsy feeling throughout the day as long as they are on MSIR or Roxanol. There might be nausea and vomiting, along with profuse perspiration. The pupils might become pinpointed. These side-effects do not usually require medical attention unless they persist and become too bothersome to the patient.
