Roxanol®-T ~ Side Effects
As Roxanol-T contains morphine, a narcotic analgesic, the thinking
capacity of the brain will be affected. The other major side effects include
breathing problems, reduced heartbeat, convulsions, light headedness and
dizziness, and in some cases may also result in fainting. If the patient
shows any signs of the above mentioned side effects, emergency medical help
should be provided. The milder side effects of consuming Roxanol-T are:
constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Some patients
also show signs of memory problems and insomnia or sleeplessness.
The over dosage of Roxanol-T leads to respiratory depression, coma, cold
skin and in some cases it may cause bradycardia and lower BP levels. The
more serious consequences like circulatory collapse, cardiac arrest and
apnea are seen in patients who are administered very severe over dosages of
Roxanol-T. In some rare cases, the excessive dosage of Roxanol-T has
resulted in the death of the patient.
It is advisable not to use Roxanol-T if one is allergic to morphine. Roxanol-T
is not advisable to be consumed by people suffering from asthma, kidney
diseases, head injury or brain tumor, having neuro problems like epilepsy,
low blood pressure patients, persons having prostrate problems and mental
illness. Roxanol-T should never be given to persons who have a history of
