(Sulfenta, Sulfentil): synthetic opioid analgesic 5-10x stronger than fentanyl. Used mostly in OR and ICU settings for short periods of time. Offers sedation properties. Usually administered IV and rarely transdermally. Side effects include severe respiratory depression and can cause respiratory arrest if airway is not managed properly. Can also cause arrhythmias, BP changes, nausea/vomiting.
